  • another huge problem with the stock market is when they privatized retirement you have no thought investment. Huge amounts of the market value is due to there being nothing else to do with the money. Most of the extreme wealthy can't do anything with their money so they throw it in and then retirement can't be used until retirement so its thrown in. Only a really small set of investors are analyzing companies for actual profit potential. Its why the whole thing is such a house of cards now.

  • Being an old man this really gets me. I love the internet and the way computers today but there is a whole lot that worked fine before plastics were so common. Almost nothing in the grocery store had plastic and everything was pretty much as convenient as nowadays. Sure you had to pay a deposit on the glass bottles but you got it back when you returned them.

  • I think its more about strong smell than bad. I have seen people complain about people bringing their own food in general. Its sensible to me that folks would use things that are relatively clean and not very aromatic like a simple sandwhich or something else you could eat with fingers.

  • It annoys me a bit that the local news seemed to cover this a bit better than the other ones and I feel because its mayday. They are like this is the largest mayday since such and such a time but its like hey you know all those other ones were just as large downtown. My local channel has been covering it but like just a blip at one news point before mayday. At least with this one the blurb continued from the afternoon to evening to morning blocks which should have been the case with the others. Should really have a blurb at the weekend ones to since to me those should sum up the week a bit.

  • this. I ate fast food far to often before the prices doubled and now im not even sure when I will eat it but it would likely have to be a no or few options. Heck last time I did was when my wife was in the hospital and I decided I need a very fast option and like you have up there it was rediculously slow. After my order I was pissed that I had made the stupid decision waiting for the two cars in front of me to get their order and oh yeah. my order was done wrong but again. in a hurry.

  • I used to do this way back and when I saw the question I was interested in the replies and yours is the only one that I would say answer it. The only answer to me is a distro which asks you what desktops you want to install and gives you the option for several. Its great that you can install them all on any linux but hes asking beginner friendly so to me that implies you being able to install them from the get go.

  • Completely agree. There are plenty of points where you can effect change but when that final election comes you vote for the better option for that race. And if you did not do that, yeah Im pissed at you but the important thing is you learn your lesson and do the sensible thing in the future.

  • This sums up my feeling. I can't quite pinpoint where it started going backwards but a big turning point was with ios. I was a big mac guy when the hardware was beefy with lots of ports. I can't really think of anything since that has been all that useful and even then with tradeoffs that make it not so great. steamdeck might be one of the rare standouts.
