I always get them confused.
  • Am I the only one that is seeing this as a joke referencing Stalactites and Stalagmites? Like I also think that it fits as a good thought experiment, but is the joke so obvious that no one is stating it? Or is am I just reading something into it that's not there?

  • Pelosi snaps at CNN’s Jake Tapper for mentioning Trump’s smear at Harris
  • Listen, Pelosi is just as much a ghoul as most of Congress, but she’s absolutely right here. The media keeps ignoring their responsibilities as much as Congress has ceded its responsibilities to the executive branch. The Supreme Court and Presidency seem to be the only “estates” flexing any of their power and the US does everything it can to get morally reprehensible tools into those positions.

Tapper looks like Trump talking about Jan 6 or the death of Rowe v. Wade shielding himself from blame by saying “He’s the nominee, I thought you might have a reaction.”

What is CNN a fucking YouTube channel now? Are you doing a podcast Jake? Fuck off you corporate shill. Go hang out with Joe Rogan.

    Disgraceful.

  • Entran de L'Aïr - Imouha [Sahel Rock]
  • I saw this band last week. They are dope. Not a ton of variety between songs, but it's still really great. They get people dancing that's for sure. The whole club was grooving hard. Tough not to with that 4 on the floor driving all night.

  • 'An evil axis' — JP Morgan CEO issues stark economic warning over Russia, Iran, North Korea
  • Sorry for repeating this comment I just made to another reply, but I don't think I can put it any more succinctly:

Consider how much banks empower Putin by continuing to prop up the petrodollar which helps keep the Russian economy afloat.

Then consider how much these c-suite ghouls get a hard on for LLMs and AI and how much those muddy the waters of what is actually real, factual information and contributes to disinformation and misinformation on the web.

Maybe some would consider bigger a stretch, but I don't.

Putin can go get fucked in the ear though.

  • Taskmaster series 18, episode 1 - The faceless facilitators
  • This is my first timely consumption of TM, so I am absolutely chuffed to be able to chat with anyone about this! I have a ton of friends who I think would enjoy this series, but I haven’t been able to get anyone to try it.

This slate of contestants is awesome. I loved how the first proper task slowly unfolded, and the whole show was great. Pretty sure that Jack is going to be my personal fave this series.

It’s hard to believe that the show still manages to stay fresh 18 series in.

I want David Mitchell to try this show at some point, but I doubt he’d be willing to do it.

  • Not saying it wasn’t disappointing to see him there, but there is also an argument that the Teamsters were there with a pro-labor message (that was not well received by the crowd) in order to push democrats toward voting on pro labor legislation called the PRO Act I believe, which they did the following week.

I can tell you that there are some very confused members of the Teamsters that will vote against their own interests because they’re brainwashed by right wing media. The leadership is not. They were sending a message to the Democratic Party that lawmakers need to hold up their end of the bargain. The PRO Act ended up on the floor the following week if I recall correctly.

Edit: The PRO Act is legislation meant to strengthen workers’ rights to organize.
