Wow, the cognitive dissonance of calling your daughter selfish...

Oh totally not, but that's my point. If you are going to exploit those people, at least treat them with dignity before they go in front of the camera. Even Jerry Springer had at least the decency to pay for the flight, the hotel, the limo... before treating his guests like monkeys for his show. Not that it would excuse it, but it would appear a tad more humane.
That's the thing, I totally get why people say he's a sociopath cause even though he's fucking rich, he can't even pay for an hotel room for the participants. I have a feeling their belongings were taken so they would not have to deal with people stealing each other's stuff, which would have been wayyy less likely if people got their own room. I highly doubt it's that much cheaper to rent a fucking stadium, buying 2000 sleeping bags, paying for portable toilets, etc. than to rent a whole cheap hotel or motel.
He really wanted those participants to be desperate for that money. "At least if I get to the end, all that crap before will be worth it". It's disgusting... He's not considering those people as humans but as cattle.
This reads like another Fyre Festival. Just when I thought my opinion of him could not get lower.
Well not really. And this is not to defend this company, I hate them so much, but I just want to highlight the difference.
When you go on Ticketmaster the price shown is what you will pay. Including the taxes and whatever bullshit fees they want to add. So you know exactly what it is going to cost you. What Cineplex was doing was showing the cost of the ticket (let's say at 15$ or whatever), but when you go checkout, now the cost is 15$+tx, PLUS the ordering online fees as well. That is what was ruled illegal.
I hope this is a typo cause it would be really weird to get such an emotional reaction from classical music.
Thanks for that, wanted to do that little spoiler thing but was not able to do so hahaha
You should see the French title...
THANK YOU ! I was feeling like I was alone with this point of view...
It is possible for someone with two X chromosomes to still be colorblind, but since this gene is recessice you have to have the mutation on both chromosomes, which makes it way more rare.
Yeah I don't think they enjoy it that much...
And to had to that, soccer comes from the term Association Football (hence A.F.C. -> Association Football Club) but since it was too long, the British shortened it to Soccer and it was the prefered term going back as far as the late 19th century. Refering to it as football regained popularity in the UK during the 1960s. As for Gridiron Football, the first part of the name was dropped long ago as at the time all football sports were simply called "football" in North America (this includes Rugby).
And yes this joke is sooo tired, my first reaction was "oh we're going back to making those lame repeated memes that made me quit 9gag 10 years ago"
Also, the argument of "but what about the exploited workers in the fields ?" is one of the weakest that's always thrown around. Do they realy think that everyone working for the meat industry are all treated fairly ? All those fields of corn/soy that are used to feed the livestock, guess what, they also need workers.
Also, this is indeed not even an unpopular opinion. Vegans/vegetarians are all around some of the most hated groups of individuals. Source : https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/abs/10.1177/1368430215618253
Honnestly I was a little bit disapointed cause when I went to see it to the movie theater, I was in the mood for a scary movie. Like typical horror stuff. There is some "scary" passages, but it's no It. So don't expect to be full on frightened or to have big jump scares.
However I think it is a movie worth checking out. The acting is on point, the images are vibrant, overall greatly directed. Obviously the movie is a big metaphor, but I went to see it completely blind and I understood pretty easily what it was all about. I'm kind of surprised by the score on IMDB because it has a 83% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and I just heard nice things about this movie beforehand. It brought a tear to my eye even though I am not in the same situation as the protagonist.
I don't know if OP speaks french or it's just a funny coincidence, but "pipe" is also slang for blow job.
Est-ce moi ou le titre est vraiment mal formulé ? Je pensais que c'était une bonne nouvelle avant de lire le contenu de l'article...
I've been with someone who would constantly be acting in a romantic way while constantly saying there was nothing romantic and that they were not ready to be in a relationship with me. But still always wanting to spend time together, cuddling, etc. As soon as I was acting more distant or less affectionate (basically more friendly than romantic), that's when they would up a notch the affection display.
It kept me around them because I was always hoping at one point the door would be open for a relationship. When what we had (whatever it was) "officially" ended I was at some of the lowest I've been in my life. Looking back at it there was so much gaslighting, now that it's behind me, I am glad I got out of it.
I think you should tell her it's either you try to go back together or it's over for good. Being in this weird Schrodinger's couple situation never ends well, for both parties. It may hurt, but in the long run you'll get over it and it will be easier to meet new people who don't send mixed signals.
Really interesting concept you brought up, did not know that law and yes it makes perfect sense.
And I totally get your point, but it is still an issue to me considering that she wanted to keep the audience hooked as they aged. As someone put it in another comment, in the first book, Harry is eleven, it appeals to kids ~11 y.o, and so on. But, and I speak personnaly, by the fifth book it was already too disjointed for 15 y.o. me. Her books are like a Jojo's Bizarre Adventure book/episode, but without all the corny humor and the self-awarness that makes it fun.
