What if Everyone Did Something to Slow Climate Change? Researchers are looking at the impact that individuals’ actions can have on reducing carbon emissions — and the best ways to get people to adopt
  • That misses the point. It's methane. Burning it releases carbon dioxide and whatever doesn't burn or leaks is directly adding methane. The heat from burning it is more heat into the atmosphere.

Since we're pumping it from underground every bit of it adds directly to the carbon cycle.

There is too much focus on what is already in the carbon cycle and while we are adding to the carbon cycle, none of it matters.

  • Yep. I think looking back it's going to be clear Google chose the wrong time to lean into enshittification of their algorithm. Further, their habit of abandoning products will cause people to choose other LLM solutions first.

  • Mark Cuban: "The Mainstream Media Truly Leans Right"
  • The media is right wing. Even cnn has shifted right to capture viewers.

Turns out the left isnt interested in watching endless hours of repeated editorial content presented as journalism.

So the capitalists have leaned into the market that so willing to listen and that is the right. The mainstream of media has been Fox News for a ver a decade now, so to claim the mainstream isn't right leaning is to claim that fox doesn't exist.

It's fine if the right wants to gaslight themselves as victims. It's basically expected as this point. The narrative that keeps them tuned into endless new cycles that keep them fearing the larger world all but demands it.

No one expects the right to accept reality. Everyone understands they need comforting lies. Even they know it. They admit it. Then go right back to believing the lies and dismissing their momentary admittance of reality as lie as they bask in the glow of their gaslights.

  • Free solar panels for everyone.

    Free heat pumps for everyone.

We need everyone on free clean electricity now and cut all natural gas lines to homes, businesses and factories. Nothing else comes close to the impact of those and it will drive a change in other sectors like transportation when there is free clean electricity everywhere.

  • Yeah. The beef thing has become the main call to action while ignoring that beef consumption has been falling since the 70's. It's also not clear how much of that carbon is part of the existing carbon cycle.

The solution is adding less carbon to the existing cycle which means stopping pumping including and especially "natural" gas.

    Everything else is performative.

Only when we stop adding it to our environment can we have any hope at sequestration.

  • The ugly reality behind Tim Walz’s farm-friendly image
  • Veganism isn't a social movement. It's a culture movement closer to religion than anything. It has special dietary and lifestyle dogma that one must adhere to in order to be a member of the group.

It merely attempts to leverage existing social movements to push its much larger agenda, as any religion does.

  • This statement is why no one likes vegans. You're demanding that someone adhere to your believe system. It doesn't matter how well you can argue your rationale, the demand itself is the reason.

It's the same level of insufferableness as Christian Warriors.
