  • That person is probably thinking of European size stores. I think grocery stores in the US might just be bigger on average than they are in Sweden? We have some big mega stores here compared to Europe.

  • OK but that advice was clearly meant for people like OOP who haven't been in a relationship as the post implies. If you have been in a relationship and are just in a slump then the shower advice was pretty clearly not meant for you? Not everything is meant for you.

Honestly if the energy your putting out in this comment section is the energy your approaching people with then that might be your problem.

  • You keep posting similar comments, and I know you don't mean it like this, but the "have access to" wording keeps giving me hostage vibes. Like you have your wife locked in your basement and you won't allow her to see her family until they grovel appropriately.

I do support people not associating with rapist Nazi lovers though.

  • This is going to really depend on the state, but no most do not require any appliances be provided. California does not require a fridge to consider the property "livable" so I doubt not providing a washer and dryer would make a rental "unlivable" in most US states.

  • Can confirm, I am a windows user and if my laptop came with Linux preinstalled, the way it had windows preinstalled, I'd be a Linux user.

If I ever have to Google what the hell a kernel is then I have read everything else available on the internet.

  • I can confirm the military still takes its drug tests seriously. If a soldier ate that pizza and got drug tested (military loves a surprise drug test) they could have gotten in very serious career ending levels of trouble.

  • My father use to send me into the voting booth with my mother to make sure she "remembered" who to vote for....no election officials ever stopped me from going in there and I was too young to understand that I was a spy. My father's not violent but I'm sure I wasn't the only child spy being used by men who were.

  • There are some countries in Europe that provide out free employment skill classes. Maybe look in you're local area, many of them can teach you basic computer skills.

Edit: You've made multiple posts on Lemmy where there are some minor tech barriers to entry so you certainly aren't unteachable.

  • So people who live in Washington DC can vote for President. D.C. has 3 electoral college votes. Puerto Rico does not have any electoral votes. (They do hold primaries that also don't seem to really count).

DC does lack full voting representation in Congress just like US territories (e.x. Puerto Rico, Samoa, Guam). I do think their delegate can vote on some things in congress, I don't remember the details of what, but it's definitely not a full congressional vote.
