If I remember correctly - speed bump = “fart hinder”
Edit: oh and I think entrance / exit in Icelandic is “infart” and “utfart”

You’re not gonna believe it – we’ve got a new press secretary, wonderful woman, fantastic gal. Sharp as a tack. Dasha Nekrasova, alright? Or, as I like to call her, Dangerous Dasha. Dangerous Dasha! I thought about maybe ‘Deadly Dasha’ – some people were saying that – but Dangerous Dasha, that’s the one. Really rolls off the tongue, doesn’t it? Tip top recommendation from Peter Thiel. Smart guy, really smart guy, only hires the best! We love Peter, don’t we?
It’s intended:
Elon Musk Sees Trump’s Economic Plans Causing ‘Temporary Hardship’
It reminds me a lot around the language of Brexit - that there would be pain, but it’s worth the price etc etc.
The bourgeois do well out of recessions/crises.
Elon Musk, Ramaswamy land Trump admin roles
Trump announced Tuesday that Musk and Ramaswamy would lead his “Department of Government Efficiency” (DOGE), an initiative meant to “slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures” and restructure federal agencies.
Real government hours
The descent of many libs into “it was rigged” is predictable, fascinating and very very funny. The latest I have seen is that Starlink was interfering with vote counts because Elon told Joe Rogan he had an app that gave him a prediction of the election 4 hours before the polls closed
It is striking to me to see the differences in reaction to the last Trump victory in corporate tech land. I’m not at the same company, so there is variability, but the last time this happened there was a very clear sense of liberal outrage and despair, with company leadership speaking of how they will stand up for company values etc etc. This time, despite it being a “mission-led” company (lib code for conning its employees that it does social good), the message is simply “do not talk about politics”. The reaction of people is largely “let’s see what happens” or “it’s all out of my control anyway”. This time around, brunch isn’t gonna be cancelled folks.
Edit: I also wonder if once Thiel decides it’s time to get rid of our big wet boy, centrist wine libs will feel calmed by the emergence of President Vance.
Funniest outcome:
- Trump wins
- Biden does a speech ranting about how he would have won
- Trump dies in office
- President Vance
Fuck that’s actually not funny and more just wearily realistic

And I learned that, uh, it makes a difference. This was the diving board area, and I was one of the guards. And they weren't allowed to it was a three meter board. If you fell off sideways you landed on the damn the darn cement over there. And Corn Pop was a bad dude. And he ran a bunch of bad boys. And I did and back in those days and to show you how things have changed, one of the things you had to use, if you used pomade in your hair you had to wear a bathing cap. And he was up on the board wouldn't listen to me, I said HEY ESTHER! YOU! OFF THE BOARD! OR I'LL COME UP AND DRAG YOU OFF! Well he came off, and he said, "I'll meet you outside." My car, this was mostly, these were all public housing behind you. My car, there was a gate out here. I parked my car outside the gate. And I, he said, "I'll be waitin' for you." He was waitin' for me with three guys with straight razors. NOT A JOKE! There was a guy named Bill Wrightmouse, the only white guy and he did ALL the pools, he was the mechanic. And I said what am I gonna do? And he said, "Come down here in the basement. Where mechanics where where all the pool filter is." You know the chain? There used to be a chain went across the deep end. And he cut off a six foot lump of chain he folded it up he said, "You walk out, with that chain. And you walk to the car and you say, 'you may cut me man, but I'm gonna wrap this chain around your head.'" I said you're kidding me. He said, "No if you don't, don't come back." AND HE WAS RIGHT! So I walked out with the chain. And I walked up to my car. And they had in those days used to remember the straight razor you'd bang'em on the curb get'em rusty put'em in a rain barrel get'em rusty. And I looked at'em. But I was smart, then. I said, first of all I said when I tell you get off the board you get off the board I'll kick you out again but I shouldn't have called you Esther Williams. I apologize for that. I apologized but I didn't know if that apology was going to work. He said, "YOU APOLOGIZING TO ME?" I said I apologize not for throwing you out, but I apologize for what I said, and he said, "OK" closed the straight razor and my heart began to beat again.
So, I heard, and this is what they’re telling me - Vivek, you know Vivek, right? Smart guy, very smart, some say too smart, but we like him, we like him - a little too smart for his own good, maybe - but I heard he’s a Trotskyist now. That’s right, folks, a Trotskyist. You know, Trotsky, Trotsky, the guy with the little glasses, not a great look, not a good look, folks. And I said, “What’s a Trotskyist?” - and they tell me, they say, “Sir, it’s someone who is a Trot,” and I said, “Trot? Like a horse? Like a horse!”
So I commented the other day about the British billionaire whose boat sunk in a freak storm off Sicily, two days after his codefendant in a fraud trial was run over and killed.
After reading this Twitter thread:
- He was absolutely, without doubt, a product of the intelligence services, making Keir Starmer’s intelligence connections look innocent
- He’s entered the Blowback universe due to his connection with no less than fucking Richard “The Prince of Darkness” Perle
The FDA is waiting on test results on the effects of pasteurization on the virus in cow's milk, but to date, it's seen nothing that would change the assessment that commercial milk is safe.
2 weeks to flatten the curve guys
This caught my attention today. I’m hoping it’s nothing, but it’s worth looking into more closely. This is influenza A in wastewater at two sites that are monitored in the Amarill…
I posted about this in the news mega, but figured I’d post separately too as it seems potentially happening.gif
With the caveat from the article:
> H5N1 is a strain of influenza A. It’s impossible to know at this time if this is what is driving this increase, but vigilance is warranted. Hopefully this is simply all a coincidence or just a statistical anomaly. I watch for early signals to monitor.
But an apparent surge of flu in April in a cattle production region is…deeply concerning, given the bird flu situation right now.
