  • Glad to hear that they try to make it as fast a possible. I believe that if they are already doing this amount of effort for you than the rest will be fine to. Try to keep you head up, you will be fine!

  • Developments in Mexico regarding the INE

    Hey comrades,

Recently I saw a wave of news articles that described the recent developments in Mexico regarding the reform of the elections - with special attention to the National Electoral Institute (INE) -.

At the moment I’m only able to find western/neo-liberal news sources about this subject. I was wondering how you are seeing/analyzing these event - especially if you’re from Mexico – and if you have some non-western/neo-liberal sources.

Can anyone point me to anti-imperialist telegram news channels that aren't infested with reactionaries?
  • Sorry I completely missed it. But yea I love their content, hope that they will do collabs with left YouTube. They have so much potential.

  • I already saw some good links in an other comment, but would like to add Red to the list. It's a socialist news organisation that covers world news (now primary Gaza ofcourse).

Here the link, for if you're interested: https://t.me/theredstream

  • DPRK reportedly fires 200 artillery rounds.
  • Not to mention the continuous provoking exercises near the border. The last was just a week ago. It seems like the US is trying very hard to prevoke the north.

    (Last weeks exercises: https://www.reuters.com/world/asia-pacific/south-korea-us-conduct-week-long-firing-drills-near-north-korea-border-2024-01-04/ )

  • The propaganda is crazy. One of the biggest Dutch news sites (NOS) posted a article where they stated that it violated the 2018 agreement. Only they failed to mention that the south where the first to back out of these (in nov 2023). The political agenda is so blatant, it's crazy that people don't notice it.

The NOS article (Noord-Korea schiet op zeegrens, Zuid-Korea reageert met oefening - https://nos.nl/l/2503789)

    Translation:

North Korea fires at sea border, South Korea responds with exercise

North Korea fired artillery near the sea border with South Korea during a military exercise, violating military agreements between the two countries from 2018. No damage has been reported. The South Korean military responded with similar shooting exercises. Residents of Yeonpyeong Island had to take refuge in bomb shelters.

A spokesperson for the South Korean military called the shelling a "provocation that threatens peace and increases tensions on the peninsula." He said the movements of the North are being closely monitored in cooperation with ally the United States. Tensions

At the western sea border between the Koreas, fights have regularly broken out in the past. In 2010, North Korea last fired artillery directly at Yeonpyeong, killing four South Koreans.

North Korean state media reports that head of state Kim Jong-un has ordered the military to tighten defense and produce more launch vehicles, as the country faces 'an imminent military confrontation with enemies'.

Last week, Kim already announced that he wants to prepare the country for a "US-instigated confrontation" by investing in nuclear weapons and espionage equipment.

  • It's as clear as day that the US doesn't chose a position based on good morals/ethics. I really don't get why some people don't see it, it's so easy to spot.

  • What are you reading?
  • First of a sorry for the late reply.

The reason why I’m reading An Economic History of the USSR is because a Marxist-Leninist friend recommended it to me. It has some nice information, but I would recommend Blackshirts & Reds by Michael Parenti if you want some more general information. He gives a far broader field of information about the Soviet Union and the rest of the communist bloc.

Mutual Aid: Building Solidarity During This Crisis (and the next) is indeed the one by Dean Spade. And yeah, it is a little too much focused on the US, but I would still recommend it.

Furthermore, I would really recommend reading Stasi State or Socialist Paradise. I just finished it and must say that it is one of the better books that I have read this year. It’s a light read but still contains so many great examples and information. It’s a great book for when you’re waiting for the train for example.
