Egg prices have surged nationwide due to an outbreak of avian influenza, which has greatly reduced the number of egg-laying hens.
If they find cases of companies just price fixing even when they have not been impacted by avian flu, kudos.
After promising cheap eggs and completely failing to deliver, the right mob gets unruly, and the government must mimic action really quick now.

Seriously. I’ve always ponied up the extra money for the pasture-raised eggs (especially the mobile pasture ones!), and oddly, my egg prices haven’t changed. Hmm wonder why that is hmmmm

Not supporting trump, but much like inflation under biden, there is suspicion that egg sellers are using the news of avian flu as an excuse to raise prices far in excess of the proportional increase caused by the actual supply reduction.
Maybe. I never would have believed it but John Oliver gave stats on the number of birds killed to prevent the spread of the disease and it was far lower than I expected. Maybe there’s something else to it. And yes, the world is a strange place when statistics from a comedy talk show are more trustworthy than from government sources
