Anyone else jumping on the LoRa Meshtastic bandwagon?

The cheaper v3 and more talk on youtube finally pushed me to order a LoRa board.

I set up my first node this week! Not much traffic yet, though.
- Welcome, yeah depending on where you are the network still has big gaps. I've been on my local mqtt topic to stay connected, but I did hit a lot of nodes driving through Tennessee.
  
  Yeah. I live in an area with a lot of river valleys, so the signal doesn’t propagate as far, either. I might set up a solar client on top of a nearby ridge to try and build out the mesh.
For a complete noob, can you explain the difference between the versions? Does V3 interact with the V2 OK?
- Best i remember it's compatible but v3 has a few important updates.
