It's probably because it expired five months ago.
16 2 ReplyAnd it may not have been tared properly. When I worked deli I would always throw extra in after weighing and printing label.
What OP probably doesn't know is that stores are answerable to weights and measures and if it was really this far off, that's not good for the store.
