My favorite squirrel buddy and me. She's definitely the most friendly and gentle of the bunch.
What a neat encounter! Great shot! How do you identify her? Are the sharpness of her claws a problem? Did she climb up your body to get to where she is on your shoulder, and would wearing shorts be an issue re: claws?
Thanks for your curiosity :D Thankfully she has a very recognizable feature which is her shorter tail. I assume she lost part of it in a fight or something. I once tried to start telling apart the others but it's really hard haha, so many of them on the campus. A few have distinctive faces but that's it.
The claws aren't a problem for now (winter) since I'm always wearing a jacket. I taught her to climbing on my arm directly so shorts won't be an issue, but I'll have to figure something for summer !
