Lyon’s city park, Parc de la Tête d'Or, has a built in public zoo spanning 6 ha. You don’t need a ticket, and the zoo isn’t enclosed, lots of animals just chill beside you separated by a small moat
It’s quite fun to stumble upon random albatrosses while having a walk
