I created !alternateuniverse@lemmy.world for just this purpose, but it kinda went dormant after a while. May be come there and we can talk about how to prepare ourselves for the nuclear winter situation in Minnesota.
I can imagine a c/newstotheextreme community, where the rule is to have the title and body of the post be an illogical/absurd extension of the actual news article, which is both screenshotted and linked.
The screenshot provides the funny juxtaposition of an absurd title against the original title, which should be sufficient to prevent people from thinking Minnesota is actually having an ice age.

After a long fought battle against the tree people using fire and ice by the humans, which resulted in many self inflicted war casualties for the humans, the tree people have once again started to grow at a rapid pace. Projections using this current rate of growth say the tree people will take over the earth in 273 days.
