I hope it is a good reason to prefer it, but it's your choice at the end of the day :)
For me it's sponsorblock and integration with the LibreTube android app
- it proxies your searches
- it has sponsorblock, Return Youtube Dislikes and DeArrow
- it lets you make playlists and subscribe to channels
- it gives rss feeds (dont remeber if invidious does that)
- it is (server side) lighter
