It's so unfortunate the Xiaomi is practically removing the ability to install roms on your phone. The hardware is usually decent, but the software is always horrible. I probably won't buy from them again.
- What options are you considering instead?
  
  I think the only option with a 3.5mm jack and SD card is a Motorola. I'm not currently looking, so I haven't researched much.
  
  I'm dreading the time I have to buy a new phone.
Finally I don't have to turn off MIUI optimization and I can just install any app store now. (TW ROM)

As long as Xiaomi.eu is running, it's fine.
