- Holy shit! I'm glad you're back!
  I'm excited to see what's in the update.

yeah. The crash is a little too toxic rn.
Hopefully once the problematic content is a little further down my feed I'll be able to go back to Sync, but until then Voyager is good enough.
- Not seeing whatever others are that cause the crash.
  
  Go to the other thread in this community titled "anyone run across a post that crashes sync?" and then just scroll down into the comments, and your client should crash.
- Fix should be live within the next hour or so.
  
  I kind of love how we sync users are sort of like the OT Israelites wandering the desert and losing faith, then you periodically pop up and are like, "bros... relax. I was just gone a couple weeks and y'all lost your goddamn minds"

Try "boost" for lemmy... As a former sync reddit user I highly recommend this one
- It's stupid but.... I don't like their font choices. If it had the one sync uses I'd be more on board.
  I also find it slow when swiping away images, sync does that immediately but boost gives me a brief black screen.
  
  Shit, I just want two column view that isn't so crowded it's useless.
  Sync is it for that. Even eternity doesn't get it right, but boost is horrible in column view.
  That being said, boost is really good otherwise. But I feel you, when you have a dealbreaker about something as fundamental as fonts, it can be trifling as fuck to work around. And it isn't a trivial issue. My dyslexic ass has trouble with fonts, so I get it. Even if it's only readability that's at stake, that's a huge part of a forum like this.
- It just got the feature to mark posts as read while scrolling, and I was missing it so bad!
- Aw, man, I'm liking the look of Boost, but does it not offer swipe actions? That's such a useful feature...
- Does it, or any of the other apps, show you to categorize saved items? That was the big reason I paid for Ultra, so I'm very frustrated that LJ against Sync before even implementing that

Yeah the giant tiktok ad at the top of every post for a poorly supported client is the nail in the coffin for me.

Does anyone else just use the website? I feel like people don't even mention it as an option.
- On desktop yeah, but on mobile it's much nicer to use an app.
  
  I've never felt that. 95% of my lemmy usage is on mobile and I use the site. What benefits do the apps offer?

Try jerboa, eternity, voyager, thunder, etc. OP . Time to join the FOSS side.
- I've tried them all, didn't like them :( Sync just has the most polished UX imho and it's hard to leave it when I've been on it for years.
