Uh bro, let me share a timeless truth discovered in blood, mud, trenches, and tears by so many of our ancestors.
"War is hell"
It's not a pithy cute saying made up so badass video game characters have something cool to say before cutting down the faceless baddies. It's the man huddled in the corner weeping after the hundredth night unable to sleep from the sounds of explosions and shrieks of the dying all around.
What makes you think it's "not possible"? Do you think the war police are stepping in to make sure only combatants are getting hurt? Calling a foul and time out when a grenade gets tossed into a house that starts a fire that burns down a city block? Do you know how easy it is to accidentally kill a human being, much less a child? Imagine that COD game but only 10% of the people running around are combatants. It's not big empty buildings, it's people's houses with people living in them. Those rockets, bombs, grenades, and automatic guns don't magically avoid civilians.
Well of course it is. Hamas loves to hide behind human shields and massacre Israel's people, hell they have the genocide of Israel in their charter. Israel has seen what happens when you play nice, like with America in the middle east.
Hamas has broken multiple cease fires too, so thats not an option either.
