Time flies. The Guardian wrote an article a few days ago, still impressive to list all of the achievements of his career.
Which are your favorite performances of Philip Seymour Hoffman?
In his Mission Impossible role, he's playing himself AS IMAGINED BY Tom Cruise's character. With a very few mannerism changes, he makes you think you're looking at Ethan Hunt in a mask.

I didn't notice it the first time, but picked it up the second. I was watching a stupid action movie and some bastard slips in some actual acting...
He was a tremendous actor. He went from scuzzy dirtbags to upper crust dirtbags to regular guys... all at the drop of a hat. Freddie in Talented Mr Ripley, Scotty in Boogie Nights, Allen Mellencamp in Happiness, Brant in Lebowski. His death was a legitimate tragedy.
His versatility was incredible

I remember I just watched Capote the day before he passed.
