it’s called learning from your mistakes. source: grew up in germany. once you’re shown original holocaust footage in school you don’t quite easily dismiss israel’s right to exist
It took us a while, but German engineering has finally found a way to have state enforced antisemitism and racism while openly cheering on genocide without getting blamed for it.
It's not even just that. Germany supports genociding Palestinians for the exact same reasons it supported genociding Jews (and almost everyone else at the time). Its not progress, its just that the target is historically contextual.
It always seems to boil down to "Well the holocaust was bad, so I guess israel gets to do whatever they want, including a second holocaust against Palestinians."
If you told me "Germany is making people agree to support Israel as a requirement for citizenship" I would probably assume it was rumor made up on /pol/
Does this even do anything? I mean yeah you can say new naturalized citizens signed some agreement, but that sounds basically as valid as a contract signed under duress
Not sure about German law, but generally one of the few ways a country can try to undo naturalization or grant of citizenship is if the applicant lied on their application. Therefore, if you declare that you support the Zionist Entity's right to exist but then attend a pro-Palestine rally, the government could theoretically try to strip you of your citizenship.
