You're right. It's probably a lot higher than that given the sheer amount of damage to civilian infrastructure that can be seen through satellite imagery as well as both US and Israeli state reps saying the number is likely higher. But who's counting? (No one because the healthcare system has been destroyed)
Having read the history of this conflict, I can't see any other outcome than a bloodbath. Israel won't stop until Hamas is eradicated and Hamas won't stop until Israel is obliterated.
Trudeau is a man more concerned with the effects he thinks his words might have than with the meaning they convey. He wants everyone to stop killing each other but has somehow been convinced that saying "ceasefire" would be unhelpful since it might hurt the feelings of some of those doing the shooting.
