Multiple sources in the broadcast industry have confirmed that the CW Network and WWE have been in deep discussions for weeks about NXT shifting from its current basic cable home on the USA Network to a traditional broadcast television home, airing live weekly on the CW Network when the brand's current media rights deal ends in September 2024.

WWE has since confirmed the news.

  • In other news, NWA now stands for No Way Amigo! lmao

  • And it's now official.

  • Billy Pumpkins on Friday: "I'm not gonna take pot shots at Vince, I like Vince!"

    Billy Pumpkins on Tuesday: "FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUU..."

    • I wonder if this plays into the rumor that CW execs were second-guessing the NWA deal after the cocaine spot at the PPV, with allegedly some wanting to stop it and others wanting to make it a streaming app only.

      • With it having been in the discussions for weeks (and when NWA first made its rumblings about this), and now how quickly this is announced after the coke debacle, I gotta imagine this is their "Maybe we will go with plan A instead of plan B.."

I await an NWA press release announcing NWA is launching a channel on Pluto instead rofl.

  • Is the CW still tailored for a younger demographic? If so, adding NXT to their line-up seems like a smart move.

And lmao @ Billy. Seems like he's been pretty quiet since that cocaine spot.

    • It won't be soon, since they got bought by Nexstar it's been cheap British or Canadian imports, reality TV, and some sports like LIV Golf, in 2025 they will have NASCAR's lower series as well, and now NXT. They only air 4 of the original teen dramas that were on the network when they bought it and at least two of those are in their final years.

      • Appreciate the info. And that's almost too bad. I'm not a fan of the CW teen dramas but I hate that so many channels are shifting towards low budget reality crap over serialized content. I get why they do it, I just hate that they do it.
