I like Magisk very much, I see many people are switching to KSU but honestly for me that seems like a headache if Magisk works well ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Really? i think KernelSU is pretty simple to install, just look for a zip compatible with your kernel version and flash it. Patching boot.img with Magisk is the complicated way lol

Rename apk to zip and flash it with TWRP.
I like KSU, because thanks to it I'm able to easily root my device. But as soon as I got the temporary root, I immediately installed Magisk lol

I just need to figure out how to set up my current ROM to work with a custom recovery, as it is I can never get it to decrypt. I can still flash things, but not from internal storage.
Most custom ROMs support custom recoveries if I'm not wrong.
Yeah they do generally, and I can install and run a custom recovery (Orange Fox, had more luck with that on my device than TWRP). When I'm in recovery, I can see all the root storage, I can see all the installed apps, but
sdcardjust has Fox's log folder whilestoragehas a bunch of folders with encrypted names. I think maybe it's the ROM specifically (DivestOS) that's doing some extra encryption, I'm not sure. In any case, I struggle to flash things because of this, sometimes I've had to stick with the stock LineageOS recovery and sideload to get Magisk on.Maybe with more tinkering I could figure out the issue, but I don't really have the time so much anymore.
F financial apps, even magisk's zygisk is disabled still banks detect as is. Worst they knew if the package name is randomized. Apps now are more scary than being jailbroken/root.
