The first boss of the Morello crime family, the predecessors of what eventually became known as the Genovese crime family, and later top adviser to Giuseppe "Joe the Boss" Masseria.
Morello and his criminal organization engaged in various illegal activities, including counterfeiting money and extorting money from local businesses and individuals.
He was arrested and convicted of counterfeiting in 1910. He served time in prison but continued to be a prominent figure in organized crime after his release.
Giuseppe Morello was killed along with associate Joseph Perriano on August 15, 1930 during the Castellammarese War (1930-31).
