You could say it comes with some threads attached.
Glad I don't have an Instagram account.
It's one account for two thingies.
- Next genius idea, if you happen to have an account on multiple instances on the Fediverse the deletion of one will delete them all ☠️
  
  Is that not how it works already? If you use the same account for multiple instances you don't have to delete it multiple times.

- Not in the slightest.
Pretty sure you use an Instagram account to login to Threads, so that makes sense.
- By that logic you'd have to delete your Google account if you want to delete any account for which you have used Google to login.
  
  ...do you not? To delete the data I mean, not just to make it appear deleted to everyone without access to the Google/Meta user database.
And people are seriously considering federating with Threads if it implements ActivityPub. Things have been so crazy recently that I think If Satan existed and started a Lemmy instance, probably there would still be people arguing in good faith for federating with him.
- That guy who runs all the orgies, has all the drugs, and listens to hair metal rock? I'd federate with that guy 1000 times over, I don't know how he's being compared to Meta.
- I would totally follow Satan.
I've never used Facebook, & have their entire ad ecosystem blocked at my router. It's wonderful.
