Hello 👋, Just came across this project, and saw the app being advertised as open source, like on this page where it's advertised as "100% open source". Looking at the app repo though, the licensing...
They're really not though? You can't just switch off AGPL without explicit permission of every person who's contributions to the project are being relicensed.
I don't get this company or its products. The statement the CEO made about not having people steal their work was downright hostile to open source principles.
Their product is so clunky and locked down. I cant see why anyone would use this when here are great, real FOSS solutions avaliable.
Anyone using this. Can it be fully self hosted with all features?
https://standardnotes.com/help/self-hosting/docker there's some information there about licenses on self-hosted servers and the need to buy some "offline" thing that isn't listed on the pricing page. Anyone can chip in? Thanks.
That's a great solution but totally overkill for my needs and I don't get what's their thing with having OnlyOffice Spreadsheets but not the rest. There's a blog article saying they've integrated it all but the official instance doesn't have Documents. For what's worth FileBrowser will be way simpler to setup and use than Cryptpad for most people once they merge the OnlyOffice integration. https://github.com/filebrowser/filebrowser/pull/1420
For now I'll stick with Joplin but the mobile App is a disaster.
