pro tip, lemmy doesn't support selfhosted gifs at the moment. Your best bet is redgif for now
- As far as I've seen this is the correct answer. Gifs need to be linked to an external host
- they don't even autoplay 🥲
  
  Auto play may depend on your app/viewer and settings. I see lots of gifs hosted by redgifs that autoplay.
