GOP used overt racist
It hurt itself in its confusion!
- When the options are “David Duke without the baggage” or “What locker-room molestation?” both choices are worse than the other.
  
  I'm sure there are plenty of other Republican house members willing to take the job.
  I mean we have Ms. Jewish Space Lasers. We have George Bond 007, international man of mystery. If that doesn't suit your fancy, there's always Ms. Beetlejuice Hand Job. The Modern-Day-David-Duke can always jump back into the race. Or maybe you like Mr. "Eh, she's 17, close enough."

At this point I hear that a lot of reps have gone home or are otherwise absent. Several Democrats have said that if Republicans rush a vote today with a few hundred members present and try to elect a speaker without 24-hour notice, Democrats will offer a motion to vacate next week and force a real vote of the full House.

  And they'll lose. Once a new speaker is elected, the GOP will fall in line behind them, even if only to avoid going through all of this again. If the hardliners in the party are willing to settle on someone, the Democrats won't have the leverage necessary to force a new speaker vote.
  
  They didn't fall in line under McCarthy. This House is deeply broken. If Democrats are smart they'll keep their members close and hold a vote while Republicans are playing hooky.
Rep. Mike Lawler (R-NY) gave NBC News the status of the House Republican conference as they emerged from their closed door meeting: “The French have a word for it… clusterfuck.”

- Probably over. It again shows that the democrats are shit negotiators if they could only get an extension of 45 (?) days. Now without a speaker there's no way to pass anything that avoids a shutdown.
I really don't get how any republican voters can have any pride in what their party has done in the last few decades.
- I doubt many of them even know our care about this embarrassment. If it's not a sound bite that reinforces their hatred of one of their targeted groups, it's irrelevant to them.
