Totally seems like the type to pull a gun on an innocent CEO and blow him away! Look at the murderous glint in his eyes! Gives me the shivers!! What a monster!
Luigi (allegedly) supported everyones health December 4th 2024.
Woah... He's a chad.
Hero
Yes, I will have your children. Oh, that wasn't the question? Damn.
You get a free Luigi if you're player 2 and you get the right kind of mushroom.
Oh hey that's the guy who fixed all those bugs in Civ VI, cool
Can't deny Luigi Mangioni had a positive influence on Civilization.
We got to free Luigi so he can fix the god awful UI issues of Civ VII ASAP!
He's a real one. Too bad he got framed. I saw the guy who did it and it looked nothing like Luigi.
It was actually Dave. He told me himself.
Dave's not here.
Top of Reddit right now is some white asshole who got a ball in a hole bestest of all.
I come to Lemmy & this is on top of my All feed. Much better.
I understand that "sportsball" is incredibly unpopular here on lemmy because yall are a bunch of nerds, but rory mcilroy accomplished something today that is extremely unusual and deserves recognition.
Luigi also accomplished something extremely unusual that deserves recognition, but he didn't do it today.
It's more like an illustration of Reddit turning into a useless bunch of fluff. I don't know anything about golf or that guy, it just happened to be the top fluff when I posted.
Indeed, I find Sportsball not terribly interesting, and think it gets too much pride of place in news media (not being able to separate Sports from "Breaking News" push notifications on the Guardian app back when I had it, comes to mind. Grumble, grumble).
I don't begrudge anyone who enjoys it though. Everyone has their own interests!
For selfish reasons, I'm pretty glad Lemmy isn't terribly interested. It saves me from having to filter out the biggest sports communities like I had to on Reddit.
I like real sportsball. But, you're talking about golf. I don't know or care who rory macrory is and I couldn't care less. Golf isn't a real sport, it's dudes walking around on a pretty lawn then occasionally whacking something with a club.
There are plenty of valid reasons to find sports boring. Yes playing some in person is fun but it's totally valid to dislike watching or hearing about them.
I suppose they both have managed to get hole in ones?
I miss the black asshole who used to put the ball in the hole.
Yeah bud I bet golf is more popular than murdering people.
Don’t know about that. ESP. Here. How many people like golf? How many people like Luigi and his crusade? Because they think that Luigi, who is innocent, might have murdered someone.
And yet, this is top on Lemmy. Maybe because you don't get banned for mentioning Mario's brother here.
I think just by longevity within the human experience that murder is far more popular.
Luigi didn't murder anyone. The evidence they planted on him doesn't make any sense
murdering *murderers.
People watch more TV about murders than golf.
The founders of every country were, by your definition, murderers.
Depends on whose playing in both.
If really like to know more about him, and what pushed him to do what he did.
In the US, when referring to veterans, some people seem to carry this big distinction between regular vets and "combat" vets. Sure, there are the stolen valor people, who would tell others they did things they didn't, but for the most part, people who served, just got through it, and did what they had to do... The old, "heroes aren't born, they're made" thing - where we react to situations we're thrust into. Not being thrust into harrowing situations doesn't make one "less of" a man or woman.
Personally, I see more of the Luigi stuff coming, considering how things are going in the US. But, if like to know more about how this allegedly all came together in his case... he's just some 20-something college kid - outside of his current predicament, that is.
Don't let the propaganda machine and all the blatant, prejudicial rigging get to you, my man. They haven't proven beyond a reasonable doubt, using legal evidence, that it is him.
Right now, it's only alleged, and they've mishandled the evidence badly.
Don't do their job for them.
I'm not doing anything for them. As far as I'm concerned, Luigi is a hero. You can tell he's threatened those in power. There are convicted serial killers who've gotten less of an escort than Luigi.
Allegedly*

Good lad
Once again on the right side of history.
America will make any man mad.
Anyone else thinking of getting into the trades?
Wearing a Maryland shirt. .Go Terps
Unfortunately for you, he is accused of murdering a man.
Is killing a mass murderer a crime? Also, accusations do not infer guilt.
"He who saves his Country does not violate any Law."
I'd say it's unfortunate for us all when decent people are locked up to protect oligarchs who use sickness to drive their own personal profits.
I don't get it.
Well he wasn’t going to support gun control was he.
Lucky for you, the new regime will.
Reminds me of the end of this bit by Gianmarco Soresi where he comments on the unifying power of the event.
His jokes are clever
