Tonight's wave
No one there which I know is a bad idea but it's very calming for some reason.

MissGod has completed the work experience week at the police station and courthouse. None of it super exciting but has made quite a few acquaintances with the local constabulary.
- That's probably the single most useful thing anyone can do on work experience. That is, learning that cops are people too (off duty). Police stations and courthouses is where the rubber meets the road in terms of peopleology too.

- You are a kind soul. Any luck finding a rescue organisation that could rehome them? The 11 could turn into 50 very quickly if the cats are not desexed. Cats can become pregnant very young.
  
  Only 1 bothered to respond to my query. They said to try again in 2 weeks.
  Another responded and said call the council.
  No way. They'll euthanise them. Better they stay strays than that.
  I don't know what to do except keep feeding them. I can't take in any more cats. I'll be leaving here in 6 months and I'm worried what will happen then.

Well, first week is over.
Pretty tired but not in a bad way necessarily. Will be nice to have some time to just relax tonight and not be on a timer.
Have a few errands to run then it's home sweet home.

So jumping in soon for the sunset swim. I believe this might be the arse end of the weather system / swell that hit the east coast a few days ago. Sometimes goes over that wall but like that not often.
- That's so cool and totally different to where I am. There's a coral reef off the beach and rocks here and the water is always very calm.

My biggest client decided to call for a Friday late afternoon pow-wow which has properly fried my brain. Ready to check out mentally for the weekend. This week felt like a lot for some reason, but not as shitty as last week so we're on the up.

What a perfect little day. My uni meeting got cancelled and the ground floor unit had really loud renovations; I just had to get out of there...

... Good thing I have absolutely nothing planned for the weekend, guess now that I've had such a beautiful day I'll have enough in the tank to crack on with a bit of uni desktop work and chores.

I've been watching Dark again, the German sci-fi series on Netflix.
a few things have jumped out to me as notable but this especially,

Can see a fair bit of leaf curl but no edema. Overwatered but not the worst, will dial that down. Habs a bit shit this year but the thais pulled through alright.
- Can you put moisture sensors in the soil that can talk to a tap timer?
  
  Yea with this controller you can. Can also get it to talk to a weather station and the BoM. But sometimes you have to take a step back and think hrmm.. 'will I fuck that up' and for me the answer is 'most likely'.

Woke up in the middle of the night last night and wasn't asleep after 15 minutes due to thoughts, so I put on an audiobook. Two hours later, I was asleep again but brain did not work today. I collected worksheets from a couple of students and then two minutes later, I went over to them again asking for their worksheets. Boo

Work complete. Onward to babysitting

Miss Meow decided to check if I was awake with a claw to the nose. There was blood.

  Normally I get a gentle paw touch to the face, followed by sitting on me and purring loudly into my ear. Not sure why a claw came out today but I was not impressed.

I imagine there won't be many people in the office today.
Guys that's handing over created a confluence page with all the info I need. Turns out we pretty much have 1 week to handover.
The CEO and my line manager came and apologised to me about the situation and said he basically blind sided them with his resignation as he was supposed to move departments.
I appreciated that. They've also been completely transparent with their financials, which I've never experienced before.
Let's see how things play out.

- Agreed. I buy it as an emergency bag. It's good for not getting kicked everywhere, but has strong odour and isn't cheap.
- Ew. I like the pine pellets, they turn into sawdust when they get wet and absorb smells well. Bit noisy but that's ok.
  
  include a shifting litter tray and you can reduce your litter usage as well.
- I think I'll steer clear of that.
  At the moment I'm using "World's Best" cat litter which is made from corn and very low odour and Miss Meow seems happy with. I tried a tofu based one but Mr Woof thought it was a great snack.

Mount Dishmore is getting impressive again… it’s all “soaking”.
I just remembered something though. You can’t use normal dishwashing liquid in a dishwasher (especially a mini one) because excessive foam can damage the machine. But somewhere recommended putting baking soda in the dispenser with 2 drops of dish soap. Maybe I could get away with using one drop with the bicarb.
I also know that vinegar reduces foaming (with a risk of damaging rubber pipes or seals if it sits).
It’s worth a shot. I already know I’m not getting a refund and the extra work of trying to manually scrub and rinse the strong soap off everything afterwards means it’s sitting unused.
- Um, don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet, but ... Read the manual carefully. Check to see if there's an outlet valve that's not working properly. Clean any outlet points/valves/tubes with a pipe cleaner (the coloured ones for craft work well) or straw size bottlebrush. Even a small blockage may mean that rinse/wash water is re-circulating when it shouldn't be. Also air bubbles in the intake valve may prevent proper water circulation so poke a pipe cleaner in them too (gently).
  
  It fills from the tank but I have some pipe cleaners and can check it over
- Rinse dishes immediately after use. Use half liquid or powder in the dispenser. Use the 1 hour or 3 hour function. Clean the filter with a children's toothbrush and a small amount of dishwashing liquid. Don't use dishwashing liquid in the machine. If you can see excessive amounts of foam then something is wrong. There should be very little foam or none at all. Don't use rinse aid. Open the door after use.
  
  Done it all, I just can’t hack the soap residue
- just use a tiny bit of dishwasher powder, a tsp
  keep the filter clean
  and you should be ok
  
  I have used barely any before and can still smell and taste it even after a rinse cycle. Baffling

4/10 note to self - pay more attention to local news

I was so tired I fell asleep attached to a TENS machine with a horror movie playing. 😑 So that’s how life is going.
The stuff is here. I’m going to see if I have the energy to split up and rewrap the pack of soap (just so one person doesn’t get 8 bars and everyone else gets none). The tp is the thin rough Delsey but it’s the easiest least suss way to distribute individual rolls.
The fabric pieces of this doll got wrinkled so I have to iron them again before sewing. Note to self - 100% cotton fabric wrinkles super easily and is not a forgiving choice.

- Do not choose pure linen as a replacement - wrinkles even worse. Poly blend would stand up to washing if required though, so could be a good choice.
  
  Agreed, linen is lovely but wrinkles badly.
  This fabric happened to be pure cotton because it’s the outer shell of a pillow I’m salvaging for parts. The ‘skin’ of it is being used in a practice run for a doll pattern I sketched onto a grid and the filling will be used to stuff the doll.
  I bought a meter of calico because it was cheap but I really think fabrics with a bit of stretch would work better
