What are your go to clothing brands?

We all have different clothing brands we flock towards... what are yours and why?

I'm an alt girl, so I own most of the blouses hell bunny does. Recently my weight goes to my stomach so I've got really into dresses from disturbia and killstar. The quality is great, I can make them look pretty mainstream for a formal setting or alt them up for lunch with friends.

Knitwear I've recently discovered weird fish which has loads of great quality plain knitwear. All these brands wash well, and have frequent sales and discount days!

Lucy & Yak and Snag Tights. We prefer to try not to buy fast fashion and so far both of these brands seem to be pretty okay at this.
Apart from that we just buy whatever we can find in thrift stores/charity shops.

  Yeah, sadly non fast fashion for decent quality, fairly paid/treated workers and doing the best for the environment tends to drive up the price. We personally think it's worth it, we understand many have a difficult time affording such things though.

I look to the fabric make up. When I worked corporate, Banana Republic and Express had a lot of clothes that suited me, but I ended up working remote and am now a full time student, so clothes is about balancing comfort, ease and quality. I used ThredUp to thrift an oversized (for me) Gap Denim jacket that was 95% cotton, and I pair that with the T-shirts I've accumulated over the years and either my fleece lined Athleta leggings for the winter or PopFit leggings for warmer months.

Pact because I love cotton and the eco bent.
Torrid because I'm a little plus-sized, and it's hard to find shoes that fit my wide feet 😅
Otherwise I'm embarrassed to say I often find the cutest things at Altar'd State.
- Yep clothing is so thin centric it's just not realistic. I'm always interested in eco stuff and you can't go wrong with cotton

I used to care a lot more about what I wore - I had a grunge punk thing going on. Lots of plaid flannel with torn up jeans, a wallet chain, Doc Martens, and a punk band patch battle jacket. Now I mostly live in plain black leggings and a dark gray tee, because I'm mostly at home and it's just easier to work out, do housework, etc in that kind of clothing. I get my leggings from Rep Fitness and my t-shirts from Amazon.
I do still wear jeans and plaid flannels a lot when I go out. Jeans are hard because my body is a weird shape due to weightlifting. I've always had a big butt and thighs, but now they're swole so jeans never fit right. If they fit in the butt and thighs, they're enormous in the waist, with a big gap in the back, and constantly sliding down. Plus I'm 5'0" with a short torso so usually low-rise fit the best, but those are hard to find (I think high-rise is more popular right now?). Currently I get jeans from American Eagle but they're not a great fit. I'd love to find jeans that fit my body and don't make me look dumpy!
I took a look at the sites you linked, and they look awesome - they definitely have things that are right up my alley! Have you checked out BlackMilk? You might like some of their stuff!

- You may want to try out some jeans with really high elastaine content. Good American makes most of their jeans super stretchy, as does Spanx. You can buy them secondhand a lot too.

- I love the jean and plaid look! I train a lot so I can really relate, my shoulders are pretty big for a female and it's a passive PITA finding clothing. Jeans wise have you tried getting stretchy jeans and getting them altered by a seamstress?

Thank you for for suggestions, I love word-of-mouth where someone can actually vet for the quality.
My only go-to is Comfrt for hoodies and sweatpants. They also have this super soft cloud blanket that my dogs stole from me.
- Yep, often you buy things and the quality is awful and/or the sizing is bizarre. Funnily enough I used to have a blanket for the sofa but the cats claimed it as theirs... if they weren't so adorable I'd be annoyed!
  
  Same, if my dogs weren’t certified cutie-pattoties, I’d be mad. But they fell in love with that blanket and will basically follow me when I take it to the washer and stare at me with those “we’re getting that back, right?” eyes.
