  • I got that immediatly after I joined and blocked it from bot behaviour.

    Is this a known meme arround here?

    • It's made into a meme, but it is real spam. Nobody really knows why the person behind it does it.

    • Yes, I believe this is the first scam/spam-to-private-mail bot that reached such a wide audience. On lemmy at least.

      Been going on for quite a while now, but it's difficult to block permanently since there are so many instances where they can make an account. Until they've used up all the nicole+instance domain names lol.

      • Unfortunately started seeing some with just a random string for the username. The display name can still be "Nicole".

        • Ah shit I forgot about "display name" since I've been using voyager app...

    • I only joined a couple of days ago and have seen Nicole many times already. So I don't know, but feels like it to me 🤷🏼‍♀️
