- I wasn't excited about Bond before either. It's far too long between movies that aren't even good anyway.

Today, Amazon MGM, Broccoli, and fellow Bond producer Michael G. Wilson announced the formation of a new joint venture. After the deal is finalized, Broccoli and Wilson will remain co-owners of the franchise with Amazon MGM. But in a statement about the deal, both producers were clear about their desires to step back and focus on other endeavors after spending most of their lives working on Bond.
Oof. The movies have been within this producer family for the entire history of the film franchise if I'm not mistaken. Letting Amazon do the creative decisions doesnt sound reassuring

My bet: James Bond multiverse movies are incoming. Imagine Daniel Craig teaming up with Price Brosnan and digitally reconstructed versions of dead James Bond actors. It’s going to be awful.

So obviously fuck Amazon. And Broccoli recently stated that Amazon are fucking idiots and "Don’t have temporary people make permanent decisions."
So I think it makes sense to be cautious about this news.
That said if you look at The Boys or Invincible, it's clear Amazon can make some good content.
I'm looking forward to more James Bond and I'm looking forward to who exactly they put in charge of it.
- Both The Boys and Invincible have longtime producers who have been behind the project since the beginning, which makes them a little different.
  
  That's my point, with a good producer (or more accurately writer/director) we could get something excellent. I agree it's a change, and there is reason to be concerned, but with the right people we can get an excellent Bond.
  Hell if you look at the Broccoli years, the Brosnan & Craig era, you have great films, good films, bad films and terrible films. I appreciate the work she did, but the end product did not always come out fantastic.
  If the concern is someone new coming in, first acknowledge that while Broccoli may have grown up with Bond, it didn't come into her control until the Brosnan era. So it's changed hands before.
  Second, look at something like Star Wars. Lucas sold it to Disney, and admittedly Disney fucked up when it came to the sequels. They actually did OK with the first, but lack of planning after that lead to two sequels that were ultimately bad.
  Alternatively, look at Filoni & Favreau. Overall I'd say they've done a great job with Star Wars. Is it perfect? No, they've had missteps. But hey, so did a few Bond films.

Ehh, Bond hasn't been worth watching for 20 years now anyway. At least now I have a reason to start completely ignoring the series.
- Same. Goldeneye was the last good one, into. James Bond were never cinematic masterpieces, but they were the burger King of movies - decent quality, tasty, and goes down easily.
  While the Daniel Craig movies are OK for what they are, what they aren't are the movie equivalent of junk food. We have marvel spinoffs for that now, so while the Craig movies took the franchise in a more interesting direction, I'm afraid I lost interest in James Bond as a whole because they no longer serve the purpose they once did.
  And since I'm already writing my opinions on James Bond, I might as well close with some controversial opinions: I fucking hate Roger Moore as James Bond. And I love Timothy Dalton.
  
  Lol, not that controversial - Dalton is my favorite Bond after Brosnan, and both of his movies are in my top 5 (actually I think The Living Daylights might be number 6 on my list - can't remember exactly).
  I think Tomorrow Never Dies and The World Is Not Enough are hugely underrated. TND is way ahead of its time and almost prescient on a modern rewatch, and TWINE does a fantastic job with its twist Bond girl villain (even if it was the start of the absolutely horrible trend of forcing M into the middle of every plot going forward). Die Another Day is pretty bad though, which is unfortunate, as it gets off to a great start.
  But I agree with you - the Craig films are just not Bond movies, and other than Casino Royale, I basically never rewatch them.

Calling it now, James Bond is gonna be James Bald.
