Importing Windows ICC colour profiles on Fedora 38 not working

I have a laptop with a screen that is not factory calibrated. It looks pretty poor by default. I don't have any calibration hardware nor am I forking out for any but I was able in Windows to get the screen looking pretty good by using the built in "calibrate display colour" wizard and manually setting the 3 RGB slider bars.

I have then copied that ICC file to Fedora and imported it via the colour management dialog. However, after doing so the screen looks nothing like it does in Windows.

What is the issue? Why does the ICC profile not work in Linux?
