The move comes after Elon Musk said he and Trump would shut down the U.S. Agency for International Development.

At least its better than nothing. They will still get confirmed it will just take a year or more to do so.
- Musk and Rubio didn't need to be confirmed to start wreaking havoc on USAID, which is supposedly out of reach of the federal cabinets, so I think this will only be notable for historic purposes.
  
  it's the only lever legally available to them and the only notable thing about it is that it took them 3 weeks to pull it.
