The day after Donald Trump's inauguration, the mayor of this northeastern blue city defied progressives with a bid to reclaim her streets from hordes of homeless zombified drug addicts.
I see. Nice and short article. She seems to believe that sending folks to rehab is the fix. Sounds good. Others say that mental health and poverty are why people are addicts and that this is not fixing the underlying problems. Sounds better to me.
Feels like a bold but uninformed move. Quick, does something and gets people talking. There will be less folks on the steets for a bit while they are in rehab. The real test will be if those folks are back on the streets after a few weeks/ months.
I'd say its unproven if things are going to be better long term and whether or not this addresses the issue.
Quick, post it to another half dozen communities and I bet you can get even more downvotes for spamming.
Dude, it went to two different communities on two different instances. Both communities accept articles like this.
And two of those four communities are my own communities that I started and mod.
