The fuck why can't the US stop reinventing slavery
- Private prison stock nearly doubled coinciding with the election.
- Apparently Biden has approved a payment to them of 770 dollars? Big whoop. Commute their sentences. The least you can do.
  
  State jail means no federal commutation. Gavin (and CA legislature) would be the people to yell at.

- If I'm following news properly, these are probably the juveniles who were taken from their holding facility to fight fires. They are not compensated for this work, but are placed in harm's way.
  
  That doesn't sound like work at all. That sounds like something where someone is a prisoner and is forced to work for someone. That's called something, I think.
