  • The ''problem'' with this anime is if the protagonist keeps mentioning he's 40 years old and saying women are young enough to be his daughters, it’s just awkward, man!! Just go for it without bringing it up (problem solved) and it’d be easier to ignore LOL. But it seems like there’s going to be a controversial "pedo" part, but what can you do, right? Japanese people like that stuff LOL.

    • Where do you get that pedo part from? The girl seemed like a consenting adult.

      • it's because he said he could be her father and she seems underage but it's just the way the anime put the things, just the vibe. and these theme is common in animes so.. kinda ok i guess

  • Exactly my type of show.

    • Isekai/fantasy setting
    • MC is an adult
    • normal adult interactions both with platonic acquaintances as well as sexual partners (i.e. no "I've never seen a girls ankle and now I lose my mind because one talked to me" or "oh, no someone I don't know talked to me and my social anxiety is overwhelming me")
    • people seem nice and so far there are no comic-villains that are Evil(™), but let's wait until we see that spice mafia.
    • I like the tiny bits and bobs about the world-building. It's very familiar but there are tiny bits and bobs added that doesn't make it feel generic (i.e. beastmen can't calculate)

I can already tell that this is one I'll finish.

  • I had a lot of trouble understanding that opening scene and ended up rewatching it to see if I could figure out what it was trying to express. It seemed to me like our main character had quit his job and moved out to the countryside to live a slow life and then got isekai'd? Why? It's always so frustrating to me when isekai story elements seem completely unmotivated. Like, usually, a character getting isekai'd is a reason for them to reassess their life - how did they live in the past, what regrets did they have, and how could they live a better life in this other world? Here, he seemed to have things figured out in his old life, but now he's just doing whatever thought comes into his head next - he even fell asleep halfway through telling us what his goal was!

I've heard people say this is mostly about the fanservice, but it feels like they forgot to put that in. I can tell this is a harem, and he even managed to get laid in episode one, but tbh this is downright sexless compared to basically every other isekai this season.

I'm just not sure what the point of this is. My only hope for the plot is that it turns out that his online shopping actually is sinister like he suggested, but I don't think this story is bold enough to go there. I give this premiere a 2/5.
