5th grade teacher: Watch this short documentary on MLK and take notes.

Me: takes notes

Teacher: Now write an essay using your notes.

Me looking at my notes:

Things never improved.

Is... this.. a... bitcoin recovery pass.... wtf?

I use acronyms to similar effect.

For example, when writing a shopping list.

And then I'm in the supermarket wondering what the fuck KR, IC and SS are?

Today while entering my bathroom I was repeating the word toothpaste to not forget what I came for lol

Only tangentially related, but when I was a kid I'd write stream-of-consciousness type stuff in a "code" consisting of the first letter of every word. Whenever I run across one of my old notebooks, I spend some time trying to decipher it, generally without much luck. Sometimes it'll spark a bit of remembrance, like dipping madeleines in tea.

I've absolutely done this... I put a tag on my bag I bring to work that just says "dumbass!" If I need to remember to take something with me or do something after work.

Sometimes I'm just like "yeah... Dumbass... What thing were you supposed to do, dumbass?" Lol

I've learned over the years at school and everything afterwards that notes are basically write-only. No point trying to decipher them afterwards.

I get around this by being unable to read my own writing
