This is one of those classic movies that should be used as a reference when someone asks you to explain what D&D is. Heroes on a quest, or multiple overlapping ones in the case of Westley and Indigo, and the adventures they have along the way.
Another great example with a solid party dynamic among the main cast is Star Wars.

The fast and furious movies are very much a campaign. There's a great quote about it that I think came from SomethingAwful.
It's like how in any jrpg you start off fighting rats or spiders (street racing) and end up fighting god (probably street racing against god). The actual quote is much more is depth and is more about the gear and leveling up.
