The thing that this teaser has, that I needed, was seeing superman being good. When he saved the girl, I realized how much I've missed that from all of the Snyder movies. Superman is supposed to be an ideal. Having Clark not save his own father was as dumb as when they made Steve Rogers a Nazi in the comics. It betrays what the character means down at their core, and I don't think we learned anything else in the exercise.
Theres so much going on that it feels like a TV series with a bunch of episodes rather than a movie. I hope they didnt cram so much into one movie that it all gets lost.
On the other hand, hopefully it means theyre skipping the whole "origin story" bull that every hero movie reboot seems to try to do.
For my money, the best Krypto story was one of his modern origins... Jor El zapped him into the Phantom Zone and he's always present for Clark, this invisble ghost dog. Until Supes breaks him out...
This looks pretty silly, but then, I suppose when you think about it, Superman is kind of silly. Might as well lean into it. I've seen the serious, melodramatic superman and I really didn't care for it. Maybe this will work better. Then again, maybe it won't. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
