When I saw all the media ghouls posting about how the ALP needs to "learn from the Harris campaign's mistakes" I assumed they meant "they didn't go far enough to the right." Which, to be fair, was the gist of a lot of what I saw.
Don't have too much hope, remember Bill Shorten's fumble. Zionism doesn't have a death grip on Australia yet, and the NLP are truly uncharismatic. But Labor is perfectly capable of shooting themselves in the foot without outside independence. The ALP has gotten a lot worse since the days they used to play Solidarity Forever at party meetings.
