Legit my first thought when I heard about this. I genuinely doubt anything will come out of this and seeing the state of the franchise I’m probably right.

Alright for real now I've really enjoyed some of the newer content they've released, but, like, c'mon. They really expect us to get excited over this?

I hate to say it, but I just might watch it.
This guy has almost 0 rep. He directed Dark Phoenix, not the most impressive resume to start off with. This'll be a budget experience.
He co-created Rebels, oversaw all the scripts, wrote a few. That's not nothing.
He wrote Last Stand, Apocalypse, and wrote and directed Dark Phoenix.
OTOH - he also wrote Days of Future Past...
