Nov 2023 I signed up for a $34/30gb plan
June my bill was 39.55
July 42.94
Aug 42.94
Sept 42.94
Oct 48.59
I also noticed I was being charged $3 month for 3G service
Aug my phone died and got a new one, enabled WiFi calling and made it not use 3g, I am STILL getting charged for 3G service and I don't use it.
Companies are secretly increasing prices and NOT telling the customers
This directly contravenes the Wireless Code. Koodo pulled this shit on me around August and I complained, citing the wireless code. They immediately put me back to me old pricing (33.90/month) and upgraded my data. KNOW YOUR RIGHTS!
I signed up for Koodo for a few months. It went like this:
I signed up for 5g and the first month was ~200mbs with very good signal.
After a month it dropped to practically nil, terrible signal.
I waited a bit and noticed they now offered a plan with "full 5g speed" which is what I should have had.
So I cancelled. That was a bit of a pain in the ass.
A month later I got another bill for a whole other month. Not only that, they said payment was late a whole month. I was so pissed, I was about to lose it. I paid to avoid too much immediate hassle. Thankfully two days later they sent a cheque back for that amount.
Yup, I got an unannounced price increase from them around the same time too. I called and asked if they'd reverse it. I didn't cite any laws, I just said I'd take my business elsewhere quicksmart if they didn't. They didn't. I canceled my service 2 months later. I now pay $81.31/mo for both home internet and cell phone, without a contract. So it worked out in the end. FWIW, Virgin (Bell) increased my price twice and at least once (but I think twice, iirc) they didn't tell me in advance. (They were my old home internet :)
