Hey Hey, My My (Into the Black) - Neil Young
The electric (and superior) version of "My My, Hey Hey," also frequently cited as the birth of grunge.
Neil Young w. Crazy Horse played this on the Roskilde festival in (I think) '96 where he sang "Kurt Cobain" instead of "Johnny Rotten". It didn't rhyme, but it still felt right.
So grunge is punk + country & western?
Add a little bit of blues and early-Sabbath-style metal, and yeah, I'd say so
