Every two days a new thread with hundreds of comments of a bunch of liberals doing the same fucking talking points about the election. It doesn't even fucking matter but so many people are just so enthusiastic to be hand-wringing or smug or whatever their preferred flavor of insufferable is, presumably mostly because they've been acculturated by liberal media to the idea that Trump is the apocalypse despite the fact that we already saw how Trump bumbles his way through a term!
It's just so bad, you can't talk about it anywhere there without someone leaping down your throat to say the same shit you've heard before.
Lol, they'll blame us for the Harris defeat. Maybe once Trump comes into power they'll turn their hate towards him and get a little progressive again for a while. Only to learn nothing and revert back to their reactionary ways next election cycle. The silver lining is, each time they do this stupid bullshit, the American left gains a few more comrades.
Tbh ive spent a lot of time in more nonpolitical spaces online. The energy to engage in politics in any online place is just more than its worth outside of leftwing spaces.
Like tbh this is the first time in my life where Id say public discourse in gaming and sports is far more productive, positive and less personal than politics. We know where everyone stands at this point and if you still support genocide then thays a scar on your soul that you'll have to reckon with.
What is so amusing is that I just saw a .world post where they were complaining that .ml is too hardcore left and they were getting banned for their liberal opinions. One poster actually said they prefer hexbear users because despite being obnoxious they’re more civil and honest. That was quickly followed by a reply about how all the hexbears had alts on .ml that they did their real dirty work on so as to protect the mothership from defederation. I honestly have no idea what they’re talking about though, I’ve seen so many bland lib posts about how we all must hold our noses and enjoy the genocide on .ml comms lately, I just assumed it was a mostly lib instance or something (I assume the .ml is for Marxist Leninist though?
Edit: saw below the .ml is Mali country code, not Marxist then. Also I’m a hexbear who has a .ml alt like they say, but I never do real posting anyway, and if I was to start, I would for sure use my hexbear because how else would I get credit on the internal shitposting leaderboard?
I kinda like being defederated tbh. I dont know exactly which ones lemmygrad isnt federated with because i have only ever had an account here but i imagine theres a lot of nonsense i manage to avoid by being here lol.
Probably is a good idea. My ml feed is very similar to Hexbear, just has lib stuff like .world and some beehaw stuff. I find it useful to find articles basically, which is what I used Reddit for back in the day. But conversation wise it’s goddamned wasteland of horrible takes and smugness, so yeah, not really missing anything.
Yeah, I mean, I'm of course talking about an alt that I have on .ml, a lot of us have alts or such is my impression, but that's just because Hexbear is one of the most widely-defederated instances out there that isn't, like, an attempt to do 4chan or something. You can see a lot more with a .ml account, even though that unfortunately includes .world users, who are like 70% of who I am complaining about (some of them, I'm sure, are good people).
Dude appointed like 4 Supreme Court justices which has drastically changed the direction of the country. Also supported (encouraged?) throwing over our democratically elected government because he lost to a guy who has less mental capacity than the other presidential candidate that says he has worms in his brain.
really awesome system you got there where you spin a roulette wheel to determine the make-up of the 9 god kings who decree all laws and are appointed for life, and it's entirely random who gets appointed based on when they die
definitely not an inherent issue with your entire system, just a single bad election to that fascist Drumpf ruined everything
Marx grasped this essence of capitalist democracy splendidly when, in analyzing the experience of the Commune, he said that the oppressed are allowed once every few years to decide which particular representatives of the oppressing class shall represent and repress them in parliament!

Democracy for an insignificant minority, democracy for the rich — that is the democracy of capitalist society.
Gonna need a fat source on that one because for everyone who actually cracks a history book, or fuck it, skims Wikipedia even... it's pretty clear that the US has always been a reactionary fascistic hellscape with only small moments of a glint of possible redemption immediately snuffed out as it lurches back into reactionary sentiments.
Examples being post-Civil War reconstruction being stalled out, the constitution not being scrapped in whole in favor of a new one, etc. Or post-FDR when the more left-leaning liberal policies were working quite well, Truman gets in and immediately wants to go genocide Korea to prove he isn't a dirty commie... or whatever bullshit.
So, again, gonna need some sort of actually coherent explanation for how Trump is the aberration as opposed to Justice Warren and Justice Thurgood Marshall being the aberrations. The oddballs, historically, who actually managed to implement the will of the people (to a small, limited degree of course) via SCOTUS... only to spark like 70 years of asshurt from reactionaries who came up with a plan of action and executed it. Trump was just the final domino in that specific plan. It was always going to succeed eventually regardless of which republican held office because the liberals never bothered to actually substantially pushback on the reactionaries. Almost like they either agree or don't actually care and just cynically pretend to care.
Thank you for demonstrating my point. Please pick another thread to go cry about the Capitol riot in, it's not like there's a lack of liberal and more-highly-federated (and thereby more liberal) instances to do that in.
Trump lost the popular vote, but still got in. Bush with the Florida thing.
Gerrymandering.
The immense amount of ratfucking you've seen during primaries.
The incredibly low voter participation.
The fact that the government does not care what you think.
And we're not even getting into the suppression that is done.
