Weed ever make you think and feel more materialist?
Maybe I just watch a lotta vlogs, but the thoughts always come back to me. It's like my conscious mind can step back from the controls and watch my subliminal mind take over on auto-pilot. Without thinking about it, my body is taking care of my material needs, my space, keeping me fed and comfortable. That subliminal force is there all the time though, I just don't notice it. It has to be that way for everyone too right? 95% of our personal decisions throughout the day were based on subliminal thought & behavior patterns to keep us comfortable. Even the most spontaneous and erratic brain can only make a %5 sway on the ships course.
It's probably a politically self-interested affirming idea that weed unlocks the Marxism in all of us lol. But it feels nice to have a physiological experience resonate with my beliefs.
Re-reading my post title after writing it in earnest has me laughing and cringing. It's like an ironic jab at what a CIA asset would write to get commie cred.
I think It's my head being able to perceive and peel back a few layers of itself. A small recognition that consciousness is a part of every other material relationship.
Ah, I understand now. Yea that sounds really cool you find that nice and that it helps affirm your beliefs!
I do feel the same on weed and psychs! Very thankful that it helps ground me in reality whenever I trip balls because otherwise I'd probably be one of those people who believe in an alternate universe/plane/reality or acid beings
Acid does that for me, although usually with more emphasis on the dialectical or "complex systems* part of diamat.
The 95/5 ratio is probably reasonable, but worth noting that the 5% active decisions can have a disproportionate impact. It's that 5% that allows us to interact with our material environment, which then shapes our passive decisions, the 95%. Zoom out from the individual and there's parallels at different levels, perhaps an argument for a vanguard party in some contexts.
Like using your ship metaphor, a ship is 95% at the whim of the ocean and wind. But the small tweaks and choices meant ships could, on average, fairly consistently, get roughly where they wanted to go.
