If I understand correctly, I need an ancient kindle apk as a means to DeDRM some content. Where can I find it? Is there a recent howto somewhere?

I don't know if it still works, but I have a copy.
Put this in a base64 decoder and you'll get the link to Mega with the apk and instruction files I downloaded a while back when Amazon changed to the unbreakable DRM.
