YSK: wefwef is a web app that look very similar to Apollo and works on both android and ios
Why YSK: looks very similar and functions like Apollo, if you're used to Apollo that's a great app for you, even if you do not, it's still one of the best apps for lemmy
You can install the web app here: wefwef.app/settings/install or just use it on your browser here wefwef.app
It must be amazing if it's taken you all the way down to 9%!
With your phone's last dying breath an inescapable urge came over you to say something nice about wefwef. Then you stood up and finally flushed the toilet.
It's definitely currently the best app out there. However as an android user, the design paradigm feels very alien to me which makes me really miss Sync.
It's surprisingly effective for what is basically a Web container, although it is worth noting it doesn't work very well if you try and install it via Firefox.
My biggest issue with it is that it doesn't run quite as well as a native app, because it basically runs inside of a browser, which might be something to watch out for if you have an older device (and if you have an old iDevice, it doesn't work at all). It might end up being unusably slow.
I’ve looked at wefwef and it looks good, but I just don’t want to use a PWA. I don’t want a middle man between my phone and lemmy. Even if the app creator doesn’t do anything sketchy, it’s just another place for there to be security vulnerabilities.
I know I can self host it, but that just makes my home network more vulnerable, and I don’t really want to go through the trouble of setting that up and maintaining it.
I’ve been using Mlem. It’s very much in the beta phase, but it’s getting significantly better with every update, and it runs on my phone rather than on someone else’s server.
