The Clean - Anything Could Happen

So, there are a few Kiwi music aficionados, in this community. e.g @ryuundo@lemmy.world. Flying Nun Records specifically. I count myself as one of them, so I thought I would tell you why via this track.
Anything Could Happen is from the EP that pretty much started it all for Flying Nun, Boodle Boodle Boodle. Its catalogue number is FN 003 but is actually the fourth release from the label that started in 1981, according to Discogs.
It was, somewhat surprisingly, a hit in New Zealand, reaching #4 and staying in the Top 20 for months. Without such an early kick start, the label may not been the same. The Clean, their offshoots and other New Zealand bands influenced many indie and alternative acts to follow, on a global level.
I was too young for all this, but some years later, a radio show that I listened to on community radio, that was dedicated to Kiwi music, played 2 songs that really made me sit up. They were Death And Weirdness in the Surfing Zone by Snapper and Beatnik by The Clean.
A little later, I discovered an independent record label and shop called Au Go Go (this is another story in itself), and they sent me very deep into the rabbit hole, suggesting new releases but also selling me second hand copies of FN recordings. One of them was a copy of Boodle, bringing me back to the start of my story.
The End.
