Steam families freaking rocks, the original library sharing was a pain for my kids. I'm so glad they are doing this. On my next trip to the US I want to buy a deck for my kids but I don't know how, since it requires a US based account.
- What do you mean? I'm not from the US and I have a steam deck
  
  Where did you buy it? I want to buy it in the US to avoid the high overprice that they sell ir at in my country.
- Yeah, I really like the fact that my son and I can play different games from the same library at the same time. Also, the bi-directional sharing is very nice, and the whole thing is much easier to set up than the original library sharing.
- Just make a us account and buy it?
Hope the Families beta is released to stable soon - the beta has some weird volume and display issues with some games (Gungeon is a good example).
- Yeah my sibling set up a Family, but I didn't opt-in on my Deck because it's still in Beta.
  
  I don't think you can opt in, the Families beta isn't on the deck yet.
Can I share a game with my relative who lives in a different country? Or does it need to be under the same Wi-Fi network?
- It does have to be in the same country. I don't think it has to be the same wifi network, although Valve does say that it's intended for people in a single household so they might change requirements later.
